Overshoot

Overshoot is a grown up love song. It could only have been written from the perspective of having been in a long term relationship. I think many marriages hit the rocks during midlife – sometimes that’s the right thing but often I feel like people stop communicating or get confused about who they are or what they really want and they tear down something beautiful that could or should be saved. I’m very proud of all the lyrics in this one but I guess the chorus “with a little luck we’ll be dancing when the lights go up” is probably the killer moment!

Live to Vinyl

I really loved recording the Live To Vinyl session at Metropolis. It was such a cool experience; the tension but thrill of cutting live takes, the fans who got to watch it from the control room and the rest who tuned in and streamed it across the globe. It was great to offer them an insight into the recording process.

Everything was done with such care, attention and sensitivity by the production team. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

MIDPOINT

Midpoint is a record about getting older and ushering in a new chapter of life. It’s a period of adjustment with many storms to weather.

On the other side something beautiful and positive can occur. The album explores the many facets of midlife.

Gravitational (Single)

Gravitational was written in the autumn of 2020. The demo was more like an 80s a-ha song. Obviously it’s a love song. It’s about the importance to me of my little corner of planet earth that I call my home – however far I’ve felt emotionally or geographically from it, it had a gravitational pull which always draws me back.

MIDPOINT (THE SINGLE)

Midpoint, the song, was written during the summer of 2020. It was one of those songs that seemed to come very quickly and emerge fully formed. They’re always so exciting as you just feel you’re chiselling something out of the marble.

“A beach of dreams on the shores of the past”

I think it’s a lovely poetic image of lost youth.



“High time I should be heading home and checking in with the ones I call my own”

This is a reminder of what’s important and where to go when you feel lost.
